Wagon of mutton sheep halted by high water. local train service disrupted

Joe Knight drove a load of mutton sheep from Catching Creek toward the bay but high water forced a stop. Aron Wilson and Maude Nealer wed Nov 27, 1899 with Rev E L Fitch officiating. Rail disruptions cause several washouts and no train service on Wednesday and Friday. normal service expected by Monday.

Skunk ranching starts in Rogue River area in 1914

In Rogue River country a new industry begins with three skunk ranches started by two men from Minnesota who run the operation on the Rogue River and plan to grow to fifty skunks by spring. Also noted is Mrs. Wimberly of Moo Oregon earning the highest grade yet awarded by the local Normal School and a report of local mining and land interest.

Wreck Victims Identified as Four Men Missing Since Night Road Slide

A mother of the bodies of four men missing since a Salmon Creek logging road wreck is identified as Archio Burne. The corpse was found near Goviord last Friday, completing the recovery. A large slide blocked the Roseburg highway Friday evening, with eight men working through the night to clear it after Sugarloaf mountain collapse. Alden Deyoe, recently with a government surveying party in Alaska, returned home on Sunday.

Forest fires in Cary county and cold fogs hinder spread

A report from 1829 notes coal fires raging along the Cary coast with minimal property damage. Heavy frosts and fog at night are believed to slow the blaze. Michael arrived Saturday for Olympia as a guest at the Barklow home, overseeing Spruce Street construction. Several streams in the area have been stocked with fish from the Bandon state hatchery.

Marshfield Marriages Run From Thanksgiving to Saturday

Local Woman’s Brother Dies After Prolonged Separation

Mrs Frank Young learned from her niece Miss Margaret Saunders of Seattle that her brother, Ragle See leek toward pensar, died November 21 of tuberculosis. The deceased and his wife visited in this city years ago, traveling from Chicago by car and trailer for a ten day visit with Mr and Mrs Frank Young. The siblings had not seen each other for 30 years.

After three weeks of work MP Business House refreshed Barker's Jewelry with a new Line of Fostoria glassware. The left wall hides glass cases now to display the wares to best effect. The bar was moved to create space for Barker's optical rooms and a larger office. Walls were repapered in neutral tones and the floor painted grey to match the displays.
