A New Hampshire Red pullet egg weighing 47.8 ounces was bought at The Heald office on Wednesday by Mrs A R Bennett of No way. The egg was found in an enclosed pen where 20 New Hampshire Reds are laying. Since 4 Ms Bennett has found 13 double yolk eggs from this pen of special mating for extra saving. This unusual red pullet egg may be seen in the show window of The Head office.

At the city council meeting on Monday evening two local plumbers asked that a plumbing inspector be appointed. The matter was referred to a committee to investigate and report at the next meeting. Usual first of the month business matters were taken up by city officials.
The Locust Grove extension unit held an all day meeting at the E F Hoffman home Friday The Presbyterian Missionary society will gather next Thursday December 14 at 2 pm in the church social room Ms Henry Schroeder will lead the meeting Mrs Charles Wooldridge will lead the devotional and Mrs Stanley Phillips will supervise refreshments The group plans to fill a box with personal articles to send before Christmas to the Presbyterian Children's School in New Mexico
Marvin R Barree son of E L Barree of Myrtle Point left Monday from San Francisco for duty on Guam. A Portland recruit enlisted in the Marine Corps at Portland Aug 2 1939 and finished recruit training at San Diego. Barzee said he was overjoyed at his trip to the South Seas.
Mrs Lete Baker who worked in this city for years married her former husband Elwin Baker of Portland in Washington. The couple plan to live in Portland and will send for their children Alan Claire and Curtis later this year.

The Mountain State Power Company announces a reorganization plan led by Z. E. Merrill, proposing issue of 500,000 Mountain State bonds and 9000 notes at 3 percent to a group of companies and four banks. Proceeds to fund the new securities replace the existing 5 percent bonds.
