The Coos County Board of Commissioners appointed 32 year old Patrick George as the county planner to succeed Bob Gerdes. George, married with one child, has served since 1973 with the Umpqua Regional Council of Governments and will start November 24 at a salary of 914 500. He holds urban and regional planning degrees from Western Washington State College and studied at several campuses.
