An early report details a car crash involving Mr and Mrs Norman Gresham their two year old son Normen Ray four year old daughter Anita Mee and Bud Shield. The group was en route to Reeberg when the collision occurred leaving the family briefly hospitalized with injuries.
Early Rogue River mining days at Mule Creek sparked a feud between Dutch Henry and Big George Jeck. Under the grand oak they fought with rifle and axe, both gravely wounded. They survived after days of care in a makeshift hospital and eventually moved on, later fading from the Rogue River memory.
While playing bell last Thursday at Myrtle Point Junior High School, Jack Ellis suffered a bad break in his right leg. He was taken to Masthoepstel, where the injury was set, and returned home the following day. Jack is the son of Mrs. Silas Ellis and grandson of Mr and Mrs. Jesse Clinton of West Myrtle Point.
Walter G. Ruggies was taken into custody Friday on a pending charge involving pitic activity. Details remain limited as authorities pursue the case.

A large attendance greeted Royal Neighbors meeting as Mrs Katherine Benton state supervisor for Oregon paid an official visit. Mrs Frank Hyland of Eugene also attended, an initiation was held, and Benton outlined a plan for the victory campaign. The Medford state convention in April was discussed and refreshments followed.
The junior class presented a three act comedy What Anne Brought Home Friday in the school gym. It drew about 55 dollars and featured Gene Benniksen Edith Reddell Ellen Carver Mary Dye Helen Daniela Vance Freeman Wilmot Hoffman Frank Furman and James Brewster in a lively performance about Anne bringing home a new husband and a fish farm dispute.
A benefit event is set for Thanksgiving Eve November 25 at Gravelford Community Building to aid Bandon schools. Attendees will enjoy a brief program, dance, and supper with sandwiches salads or cake sold by plate. Admission is nominal.

Friends report Mrs. Mary Richardson recently married W D Duf field and is residing at Grand Ronde. She is a well known Gaylord resident who lived there for many years before selling her ranch in the area.
Myrtle Point girl Miss Guerin married Clarence Shulve in Yuma Arizona. Shulve is an engineer at Lew RECN AER. Miss Guerin is a Myrtle Point High School graduate from the class of 32 and has worked in a Los Angeles department store. The couple plan a Myrtle Point visit soon.
In the Marshfield district sixth place went to Safeway store 467 Myrtle Point for July sales and pounds per hundred dollars. Powers market 138 won fourth prize for pounds per sales dollar. Managers H B Christy of Myrtle Point and Severson of Powers receive checks, with Helen Ely of Powers and J P Stinson of Myrtle Point each to get ten dollar checks.
On Friday a WPA dump truck they rode in spilled on the Myrtle Point Roseburg highway injuring Ben James who suffered a fractured left leg and bruises on his right leg and R Hatcher who sustained several torn nerves in his right shoulder Both men were taken to Mast Hospital for treatment.
The Junior Woman's Club meets tomorrow at 7 p.m. in City Hall with Mrs Eugene Laird in charge. The program centers on Indian Art with an exhibit and talks. All interested young women are invited.
Miss Agnes Whobrey daughter of Mr and Mrs Willis Whobrey of Broadbent wed Arlyn Barklow son of Mr and Mrs Manley Barklow of West Myrtle Point in a quiet ceremony at 2 pm on Saturday November 14 1936 at the minister Lewis Root's home They were attended by Miss Lena Barkdoll and Forrest Barklow The couple left for a short honeymoon to Kelso Washington and will live in the Radabaugh apartment upon return Both attended Myrtle Point schools and Barklow works as a county truck driver.
Myrtle Grange elected its officers for the ensuing year at a Tuesday evening meeting in the VFW hall. J D Cartnaster served as master, with Lawrence Rackleff as overseer and Mrs Roy Robison as lecturer. Other officers include Joe Mast steward, Roy Robison assistant steward, Mrs J D Carl chaplain, Martin Schmidt treasurer, George Hampton secretary, Walter Laird gatekeeper, Mrs E F Brodie conductor, Mrs A H Bender lady assistant steward, Mrs Ide Harris Flora, and Mrs Lawrence Rackleff as the Pomona and lady assistant steward. They assume duties December 1. Cookies and chocolate were served. next meeting is December 7 at the VFW hall.

The usual Saturday night dance hosted by the V F W is not on this week. The Elgin Social club and V F W plan a larger Thanksgiving night dance on November 3 with music by Fid and Wilfred Nes as featured entertainers.
