While playing bell last Thursday at Myrtle Point Junior High School, Jack Ellis suffered a bad break in his right leg. He was taken to Masthoepstel, where the injury was set, and returned home the following day. Jack is the son of Mrs. Silas Ellis and grandson of Mr and Mrs. Jesse Clinton of West Myrtle Point.

State Supervisor Visits RNA Lodge

A large attendance greeted Royal Neighbors meeting as Mrs Katherine Benton state supervisor for Oregon paid an official visit. Mrs Frank Hyland of Eugene also attended, an initiation was held, and Benton outlined a plan for the victory campaign. The Medford state convention in April was discussed and refreshments followed.

The junior class presented a three act comedy What Anne Brought Home Friday in the school gym. In the Marshfield district sixth place went to Safeway store 467 Myrtle Point for July sales and pounds per hundred dollars. Powers market 138 won fourth prize for pounds per sales dollar. Dump Truck Spill Injures Two Men on Myrtle Point Road

On Friday a WPA dump truck they rode in spilled on the Myrtle Point Roseburg highway injuring Ben James who suffered a fractured left leg and bruises on his right leg and R Hatcher who sustained several torn nerves in his right shoulder Both men were taken to Mast Hospital for treatment.

Myrtle Grange elected its officers for the ensuing year at a Tuesday evening meeting in the VFW hall. J D Cartnaster served as master, with Lawrence Rackleff as overseer and Mrs Roy Robison as lecturer.
