Bridge Grange plans turkey dinner and meeting

About 30 members attended the Bridge Grange potluck Friday evening and stayed for the meeting. LeClerc was chosen chairman to organize the event and appointed CFEI Jaon and Miss J Evernden to assist. The Home Economics club meets next Wednesday to continue curtains for the school lunchroom.

Coquille Woman Hurt In Wreck Near Eugene

Mrs John Aasen of Coquille was seriously injured when their car collided with a loaded turkey truck near Eugene Monday night. Aasen suffered a fractured skull while the truck truck after the gas tank exploded. both the driver and the vehicle were consumed by flames. The couple had been returning from Homecoming weekend with their daughter. Aasen was taken to Valley Hospital.

Wendel Wayne Cook, 23, of Ban don, was arrested Sunday at Myrtle Punt for driving while intoxicated. He was arraigned before Justice F A Dodge, waived examination, and bound over to the grand jury under a $100 bond. He posted bail and was released Monday.

Bandon Benefit Nets Over 300 for Relief

About $302 was raised by the Bandon Relief benefit presented by the Myrtle Point Chamber of Commerce and civic clubs at the Hi lant Theater. A check for the amount will be mailed to Bandon after the Myrtle Point chamber meeting next Tuesday. An $800 goal existed with plans to raise the balance. The drive received strong support across districts and rural communities through ticket sales.

Bridge Man Starts Pen Sentence

Loren Knight, 4, withdrew his motion for a new trial and was turned over to the sheriff and bondsmen after beginning a maximum five year sentence. Lawrence Powers, 19, pled guilty to larceny of livestock and was sentenced to two years with a 30 day stay of execution. parole later granted.

The Myrtle Point Woman's Club will meet next Monday at 2 30 in City Hall to present a program organized by Mrs Belle Whitaker.
