Entrance exams for colleges set for December 4
School States College will administer college entrance tests to high school students on December 4 in the high school cafeteria. The SAT portion occurs in the morning, with achievement tests in the afternoon. Most colleges require tests, and scores are sent to the chosen college. Some colleges demand SAT only, others achievement tests only, and some both or none. Southwestern Oregon College did not require CEEB exams. CEEB exams are January 8, with applications due November 23.

Thanksgiving Eve Service Unites Myrtle Point Churches
A community Thanksgiving service is planned for Wednesday November 24 at 7 30 p m at the Baptist church on Stover Lane. Rev David Patterson of Bridge Community Church will give the message titled Thanks Living With A Purpose. A combined choir from local churches will sing All Creatures of Our God and King and other selections. An offering will support Thanksgiving baskets for needy Myrtle Point families.

Obituary: Mrs. Edythe Weekly Herrick Dies in Seattle
Mrs. Edythe Weekly Herrick died at Pret Hospital Seattle on November 13 after illness. Born October 4, 1904 at Fort Klamath Oregon to Edmund E Waterman and Mary Jane Weekly, Oregon pioneers. She taught in Dora and lived in Coos County before moving to Springfield and then Seattle. Services were held in Seattle November 16 with funeral planned at Buell Funeral Home chapel Eugene and burial at Lane Memorial Gardens.
