The Lions club sponsors a countywide tuberculin testing drive on November 15 from 4 to 8 PM at the Myrtle Hotel and McKay's Market, with another site at Powers Moose Hall at 4 to 8 PM and 15 at 48 pm. Tests are available to all residents from six months old.
The Coos county chamber of commerce will meet at 7 30 p m November 16 at The Broiler in North Bend to plan its 1966 work program and elect a president. The Coos Bay chamber will elect a new president Pat Rooney Jr as part of the process. The group will also consider establishing a County Better Business Bureau with dinner reservations via Myrtle Point chamber at The Herald office.
Frederick George Hicks a Myrtle Point grocer died November 4 at age 70 born August 4 1806 in Hard scramble Michigan Graveside services were held November 8 at Myrtle Crest Memorial Gardens with Rev Gerald Nelson officiating He lived in Coquille 17 years then Myrtle Point survived by wife three grandchildren sons John Hicks Myrtle Point and Lawrence Hicks Van Nuys California sisters Ann Fisher Lucy Warren both of Sault Ste Marie Michigan brother Albert Hicks Mt Pleasant Michigan and other relatives.

Jim Myers a lifelong Myrtle Point resident becomes the new Union 76 station dealer. He attended Myrtle Point schools and Oregon State University in 1963 55. He served in the Army in Mainz Germany 1956 60. He and his wife Elma Jean have twin boys and a girl.
Mrs Kincheloe and Mrs Mooney sustained serious injuries in a Friday afternoon single vehicle crash about 35 miles from Alamosa Colorado where sons Mickey Kincheloe and Dick Mooney were to play football for Adams State College. Mr Kincheloe escaped major harm and returned home by air. both women remained hospitalized in Pueblo with multiple injuries including a broken hip and crushed heel for Mrs Kincheloe and facial injuries for Mrs Mooney.
