West Coast Telephone lists two sizable construction projects in the Myrtle Point exchange overseen by District Manager Bob McKenzie. Pacific Power pays major Coos County property tax
The Coos County Sheriff’s office received a $316 782 89 check from Pacific Power and Light Company as part of a statewide total of $5 892 669 in property taxes paid across 30 of Oregon’s 36 counties this year. PP&L’s local manager in Coquille, Bill Head, said the payment equates to about $16 144 per day. The company noted that school districts receive most tax funds and that over 63 percent of PP&L property taxes last year went to school districts.

A $40600 building funded with 10 percent donated labor will host Rev Louis Ross formerly of Powers as guest speaker.
