Old McKay’s Market site sold to school district
Myrtle Point District 41 school board unanimously approved buying the old McKay’s Supermarket for a future bus and maintenance shop facility. They voted 95 000 down from the contingency fund with four yearly payments, subject to sale of the old maintenance building. The 1.38 acre site and 8 000 square foot building need upgrades per fire marshal SALF and health reports. The bus shop now rents for about 2 000 a year and sits in a residential area, complicating street fueling and gas lines.

School Board Postpones Meeting to November 25
District 41 votes to delay the regular meeting to November 26 due to Veterans Day. Negotiations with certified and classified staff begin with public sessions slated later in the year. The 1975-76 budget plan prioritizes needs assessment and voter information meetings set for January through March. The district will spend 48000 dollars for a new site remodel to house maintenance, the bus shop, and storage, with a cyclone fence and underground fuel tanks planned.
