The Coquille Valley Art Association marks three years since formation on October 1 with a revealed path to a going concern and plans to dedicate a new home. Founding officers include President Mrs. Orlando Anderson and Vice President Mrs. Alton Clausen, with secretary Ted Foss and treasurer Mrs. Jack Bowen. Members named Denton Ellingson and Ernest Wardrip. The group invited the public to join lessons with an instructor linked to the local labor temple in Coquille, drawing 13 attendees. During 1951 the club grew to about 90 members and earned the state award for artistic achievement and progress.
