Incumbent Woody Robison of Arago led Democrats in Coos County with 3,483 votes to Geaney’s 2,786 as precincts reported. Sheriff race saw Les Miller defeat Tony Zarbano 5,003 to 4,015, while other incumbents Monty Moffitt and Lonnie Van Elsberg secured renomination in two other Democratic contests.

The proposed 1974 7 Myrtle Point budget calling for a 250 608 tax levy was rejected by city voters in Tues day’s election with 295 yes and 315 no ballots. Absentee ballots heavily influenced the result as the same budget had previously failed by nine votes.

League urges immediate solid waste actions for Coos County
