MPHS Senior Play Presented May 14 at Myrtle Point High

The Myrtle Point High School senior class staged The Family Upstairs Thursday night in the school auditorium under Grace Mary Linn and Alice Alverdes. Merle Randleman played Joe Heller with Emma Heller portrayed by Helen Reet and Louise Heller by Lone Parry. The cast included Annabelle and baby sister roles, with Charles Grant Ear Hoover Mra Corant Evelyn Betsy and Kenneth Cooper among others. Joe Heller, a streetcar inspector earning 420 dollars weekly, faces family aims and romance. The high school band performed several numbers and a clarinet trio featured Ear Hoover, Mr Hollister and Roderic Barklow with piano by Zella Mae Moon. The senior play is an eagerly anticipated annual event.

About 32 members and guests attended Myrtle Grange on Tuesday night. Frank Southmayd presided as master. George Hampton of Arange chaired the agriculture committee report. Mrs Frank Southmaid and R W Schaad spoke on 4 H club sendoff to summer school and a scholarship, with Ellis Rackleff winning first and Kenneth Stevens second for the shop award. The meeting adjourned after legislative notes and refreshments.
