Myrtle Grange held its regular meeting on May 17 with WO members present. Two members were initiated in the first degree and five other granges were represented by visitors. County agent Jenkins spoke on the flood center program meeting to be held in Co atle Thureday. School Boy Hurt By Baseball At Sitkum
A Sitkum school incident left Donald Grove with two broken ribs after a fast ball struck him in the aid. A CCC camp doctor treated him and he was sent to Myrtle Point for further examination. He will miss school until Monday.

Child Falls From Bridge Into Freezing Water
Buddy Smith aged three, son of Mr and Mrs Albert Smith, plunged into deep water from a swinging bridge by Gamwell's on Tuesday at 1 30. Eleanor, about eleven, jumped after him. The child suffered a gash on his leg but landed on his feet and received first aid at James Gamwell’s. He appeared unhurt beyond the cut and cold ducking, remaining cheerful as sisters cried.
