Theater Manager Appointed District Manager

Word says Aus the Dodge has been named district manager of the Assurance society's office at Dodge. He traveled to Eugene and Portland last week, returning Saturday, as part of preparations for his duties. Hoffman of Rosburg, brother-in-law of RHH, will join the Hiland theater staff and has been hired by the hospital for the new addition. A second Portland trip was made to finalize arrangements. Coos Fair Board Plans Dog Show in Bandon

Coos County fair officials met in Bandon to discuss a tentative dog show labeled a mutt show with high hopes for a stronger event later. Board members listed include Albert Powers L Claus en Broadbent Dement L Pearce R W Schaad and others from Myrtle Point Coquille Marshfield North Bend and Bandon along with county agent George Jenkins.

Myrtle Point schedules cleanup campaigns on May 14 21 and 28. Trucks collect and haul free of charge all garbage placed in proper boxes in front of houses. Boy Scouts assist by dividing town into four areas and reporting alleys streets vacant lots for cleanup.

Brown Bear Killed at Catching Creek

Eugene Adame, Avetia Ralph and sons Clarence and William with their hounds bagged a 400 pound male brown bear. Adam killed the bear with a 22 rifle. Two of Ralphs hounds were badly injured. The bear had been slaughtering J L Knight s sheep.

Townsend Club Elects Delegates for Convention

Word from Los Angeles announces Miss Mahelah Kurtz formerly of Bancroft engaged May 2 to William H. Hilands of Long Beach California.
