A Myrtle Point bachelor’s rooming house owned by Edwin Shy Franke across from the Myrifie Point Planing Mill was destroyed by a fire around 2 . 30 Sunday morning. The blaze’s cause was undetermined and firemen arrived as the building was fully engulfed. Fire crews from Myrtle Point were all present except one member out of town, per Mayor Mitch Myers. This marks three consecutive Saturday fires in the town.
