The annual picnic for the Junior Woman's Club will be held May 14. All members are urged to attend and a very good time is promised.

Minnie Robbins hosted a pre nuptial dinner for Everett Robbins and Hasel Fredenburg with guests including George and Leola Boren and Philo Northup. The couple then wed in Roseburg and will reside in Coquille where Robbins works at a store. Ninety and Nine women held an all day meeting and potluck at the Church of Christ with quilt making noted. Belva Leeper celebrated a birthday at Mast Hospital after surgery with gifts and an angel food cake.
Marshfield residents note social visits and excursions with neighbors and relatives. Mrs. Verne Lundy and daughter Dorothy visited. Edne Stuardivant from Newberg stayed with Bonnie Sumerlin. Mrs. Mary Miller visited the George Royer home. many others hosted or attended dinners, luncheons, and fishing trips around Coos River and Sitkum.
Myrtle Point Chamber of Commerce and Coos County Realty Association held a joint meeting at Floyd's cafe. Officials spoke on publicity for the Livanteck convention in May 1939 and real estate laws. Jack Brashears outlined humane society aims, kennels, and planned disposal chamber. About 25 people attended.
Boward Dale Bowser 18 of Curry county arrested April 27 for burglary brought to Coos county jail. Francesa Sell 36 arrested April 20 for drunkenness in Coquille. released next morning with a $10 fine suspended. Willard E. Boyd 19 arrested Sunday for burglary in Coquille, stole groceries and jailed. Jay Latinger Smith arrested April 28 for improper license fined $3. David Hamilton Maxon arrested May 3 for no operator's license fined $3.
The auto sales firm, in its infancy, shifts to the Menniger Building at 370 E. Second Street in Coquifle as showroom and service expand. The move is noted in these columns with the Chief Pontiac Cosi leading the local push.
Two members Sam Dement and Donald Trigg received the Keystone chaver rating and two executive offices at the State Future Farmer Association convention in Corvallis. The Myrtle Point chapter was named Keystone, with 48 chapters in the state and 230 FFA members overall. Robert Lundy, Eldon Hermann, and R. W Schaad held leadership roles as part of the statewide honors and events. Tex Murry delivered the main address at the banquet in Memorial Union.
The Townsend club honored Mr and Mrs Grant Willard for fifty years married in a Sunday meeting. The event featured a decorative stage with cala lilies and flowers, tributes from members, and songs by Mrs W C Cronk and Mrs O H As. The couple received cheers and well wishes as a long friendship and marriage were celebrated.

The Swing Kings local orchestra will perform at the POHS dance this Saturday. Members include Earl Hoover Marell Hall Beblemer Fred Durnam and Pat Hayes in the lineup.
Elizabeth Smith leads meat cookery II with sessions set for May 18 at Gravetfedd Hall hosted by Mrs Dera and Mrs O G Bune and May 18 at Bullards with the Mrs.
A gospel team from the North End Methodist Church will attend and lead Sunday night services at 9 PM, inviting parishioners to join in singing and worship.
A Sunday party was held for Thomas Reyer and a surprise party for Marley Bark- Detwiler, with Johnmon Me and Dave Horkes Berklow and family. A Friday dessert preceded by a bridge game at the Austin Dodge club.
The Presbyterian Ladies Aid invites the public to a food and apron sale this Saturday at the church store. Proceeds support church programs and missions.
Delores Bellon spent the weekend in Portland visiting friends. Thomas Guern returned downtown after an eight day illness. Fred Laferty and daughter visited in Arage Beach with Lafferty relatives. Floyd Evernden and family and Guy Lambs are reported among area residents.
