John T. Ross Pioneer Builder of Railroads Dies
John T. Ross, 84, longtime Powers resident and builder of the Myrtle Point to Powers railroad, died last Tuesday at Mast hospital. Survived by a daughter and a son, he founded Ross Mercantile Co and served as construction superintendent for the 20 mile line completed in 1915. Funeral held at Church of the Open Bible with burial at Powers cemetery under Bingham lodge A F and A M.
