Write Em Invite Em Centennial Letter Campaign In Oregon

The Oregon Advertising club sponsors the largest state letter writing campaign in Oregon history during the Centennial year. Austin Ragle says the Write em Invite em program asks every Oregon citizen to invite friends and relatives from outside the state to visit. Governor Hatfield urges support as 3 million letter heads and envelopes are distributed statewide.

Myrtle Point Ministers Form Fellowship Group Formation

Myrtle Point ministers form a Ministerial Fellowship meeting on the third Tuesday monthly at 730 for breakfast. The March 17 gathering at Fountain Lunch included Rev Hepner Rev Horsell Rev Michael Rev Mai and Rev Swenson. They planned the high school baccalaureate service May 24 with Rev Hepner chairman and Rev Littlehales speaker at the Methodist church.

Myrtle Point Teacher Wins NSF Summer Scholarship

Esie Downing, mathematics instructor at Myrtle Point high school, has been selected as a National Science Foundation scholarship recipient for the summer session of 1959 at Oregon State College. The award offers a $600 stipend plus tuition and includes an eight week training institute for forty mathematics teachers chosen from hundreds of applicants.
