IS REQUESTED P O Land has received a communication from the aviation committee of the Exchange club of Portland asking information on our aviation field. The data desired was do we have a field, the dimensions, lights, fueling facilities. The town lists 1180 by 240 for field size and notes no hangar yet and no lights but local distributor has the city name on a roof near the field. Three leading oil companies can furnish fuel promptly. A Los Angeles visitor flew only to Medford, believing no landing field here. With air travel growing, Myrtle Point should publicize that we have an airport built for emergency landings and used by Tex Rankin and Harold Adams. the field is a resource for a community of this size.

Farmer’s 1900s Barn Burned at Gravelford Fire
J P Bunch of Gravelford lost a two story barn and grainary in a blaze around 8:00 Tuesday night. The fire illuminated the sky for miles while about 20 volunteers saved the milk house and some livestock. Horses escaped, a sow and seven pigs perished, and a small Ford truck and harness were destroyed. The barn valued at about $1,900 to $2,100 with limited insurance.

Mining claim trip leaves for Klamath river area
Starts Mining Hrown and Heath of the Logging company along with Bul Brvin took two truckloads of lumber and machinery to their claim on the Klamath river between Hombrok and Yresa Cal fornia. They gathered samples of jay dirt and plan to return to work on a large scale using a donkey engine and dungecraper fines on a no commission basis. If successful they will transport another donkey engine soon.
