Myrtle Point participants include Pack 99 with plaster casting and novelties led by Arlo Duncan Troop 99 with reflector cookery led by Dean Mason and Troop 145 with reflector cookery led by Scotty Shorb.

Accident Claims Life Of Coquille Youth
James Phillip Clark aged 19, son of Clyde and Mrs Clark of Coquille, was killed when his pickup collided with a U S mail truck on highway 101 three miles south of Coquille. The crash occurred on a curve as the vehicles met head on. John Turner, driver of the mail truck, was treated at the Coquille clinic. The mail truck, owned by W H Scofield of Eugene, was hauling mail under contract. Clark Bros Sheet Metal Co. is connected to the victim’s family.
