Modern Laundry Opens in Myrtle Point After Months of Work
John and Bill Deyton, young Myrtle Point residents, have opened a new modern laundry on Eighth Street along the Roseburg highway. After months of planning and overcoming material and machinery shortages, they begun operating in their newly established business three blocks south of Spruce. The Herald reporter found the site active on a Monday visit.

The G. R. Kirk Co. expands its Myrtle Point plant with a new 34 by 48 feet store room addition. Based at Fourth and Maple, the company ships about three cars of greenery every two weeks to eastern and southern markets and pays roughly $5000 monthly to Coos County pickers. Regular routes from Myrtle Point bring greens to the warehouse for shipment.
