Evelyn Bones of Gaylord and Gladys Graham of Broadbent received 4-H club honors from Miss Cowgill assistant state 4-H leader. Bones earned Kerr Gold Medal for top canning and Graham won Montgomery Ward Gold Medal for first in county in cooking and sewing. Bones has just finished eighth grade at Gaylord and attends Union High School Myrtle Point. H Ernest Watkins of Hall Creek suffered a painful accident Tuesday at 10 o clock when a screw jack crushed the end of the third finger on his right hand. He works on the Ernest Wilkins Jogging contract in the area. Initial fears of amputation gave way after X rays showed the fracture could be reduced. Dr J A Benson reduced the fractures.

VFW Inauguration Ball a Resounding Local Success
