Bridge Defeats Riverton Quintet in Defensive Battle

Bridge tops Riverton 10 to 7 on Bridge court in a tight defense heavy game. Riverton played without key players Auer and MacFarlane until late in the third quarter and finished with several fouls as Bridge maintained the edge. The two teams struggled from the field with Bridge collecting two baskets and Riverton three, while free throws contributed much of the scoring. Donald Kabler of Ten Mile refereed the clash ahead of an anticipated rematch at Lakeside on March 3.

Landslide blocks highway then clears for one way traffic

A 75 foot stretch of highway caved in between midnight Monday and dawn Tuesday at the same site as a previous slide. Dr J A Benson of Myrtle Point responded to an emergency call from Gaylord at about four o clock Tuesday morning, and men with a bulldozer cleared debris. By noon the road was opened to one way traffic.

Pearson Family Moves to Clay Cement Ranch Near Myrtle Creek

Bert Pearson moved his family to Myrtle Creek in Douglas county and revised an 80 acre ranch from C D Buick for a term of years. The farm, called the Clay Cement place, sits one mile south of town with 30 acres in prune orchard. Pearson will market shale and runes from the ranch. The Pearsons leave many friends wishing them success in their new venture.

The Garden club led the program for the Woman's club on Monday afternoon. Eleanor and Paula Breuer performed a piano piece and presented an engaging paper on personal contributions. Miss Lucile Sumerlin gave a reading. Mrs Henry Schroeder read a husband prepared account on planting sweet peas. Mr Schroeder was absent due to a Chamber of Commerce membership drive.
