Myrtle Point voters will decide April 6 on annexing the Harmony Flats area east of the city. Two elections will be held, one in the city and one in the affected area at the Myrtle Point Tabernacle on Maple Street.

Myrtle Point Lions hold their annual athletic banquet at 7 PM in the Myrtle Crest school gym. Guest speaker is Len Casanova head coach at the University of Oregon. Lions will buy extra tickets for high school athletes attending as guests.
Myrtle Point contractor Martin Kincheloe was awarded a state highway contract at the Friday meeting to grade and base one half mile on the Powers highway in the Yellow Creek area. His bid totaled 44,559 dollars, the lowest of the submitted offers.
Merton Melvin Miller, 77, arrested February 29 by Myrtle Point police for furnishing beer to a minor, pleaded guilty before Municipal Judge Leo Nuttman. He was sentenced to jail and fined $500 with the sentence suspended for one year pending good behavior.
