Livestock Men Plan Lamb Sale Prep at Coos County Fair
About 40 members of the Coos County Livestock Assn gathered at the fair grounds Sunday for a work party to build permanent pens and corrals for the upcoming Coos County Lamb Sale on July 14. Hollis Mast led the effort, with Frank Rema providing beef and members’ wives handling most of the potluck dinner. A follow up work party was scheduled for the next Sunday, with veterinarians attending Monday to advise on disease free lambs for the sale.

The Coquille plywood plant formerly the Teltran-American division has new owner Rapalas Fir Plywood Co led by Kenneth W Ford. Production will resume this week once a faulty Kr compressor is repaired with an exact restart time announced when fixed. The mill has been closed since June 6 for repairs and alterations and switched hands June 4.
