On June 16 at Roseburg the Bolivar Copper Company named D. C. Morgan production manager for Bolivar mountain mine. Production aimed by August 18 to September 1, 1980, with heavy mining machinery being assembled for copper concentrate. Gold silver and other metals found support ore value. assays indicate rich copper ore, potentially fueling a growing company and regional prosperity.

Mrs. Don Aber of Powers was named district deputy to all Nagal Neighbors of America camps in Coos County. State supervisor Beatrice Duvall of Vancouver arrived Tuesday to finalize arrangements. Aber had previously served Powers. Mrs. John Smith resigned as Coquille camp deputy due to illness, leaving one deputy for the county.
The Oregon chapter of the National Association of Postmasters elected officers at its closing convention. Rob D. Pittam of North Bend was named president, succeeding William G. Hoover. Other officers include Buna B. Fis, Esther Guddat, John Metsger, Donald L. Jenkins, and Darrell Bradley in various vice presidency and secretary treasurer roles.
Republicans and interested parties are invited to a no host breakfast at the Coquille hotel Thursday at seven. The meeting will outline the GOP program for the coming campaign and welcome floor suggestions. A prominent state GOP member is expected to speak.
Bruce Whitaker of Myrtle Point receives a special certificate for excellence in music from Oregon State College. The music department honors students with two or four years in the college band orchestra or chorus and Whitaker has completed two years in the choir.
Mrs Emma Gatewood 71 journeys from Gallipolis Ohio toward the Oregon Centennial arriving mid August in Portland. She left Independence Missouri April 4 traveling about 20 miles daily and reports good health and kind reception while carrying official Write em Invite em stationery. She has been named Centennial ambassador at large.

Groundbreaking ceremony for Myrtle Point Baptist Church occurred Sunday afternoon on Stover Lane. Rev. Ed Hepner spoke on the temple of God, with Calmer Duvall and others representing church leaders as the service included hymn singing and instrumental duets.
