It has met in the Lobdell building at Sixth and Spruce Streets since organization Regular services include Sunday morning and evening and Wednesday evening.
Oregon motor vehicles remind motorists with June expirations to renew before month end. About 85 500 passenger cars await renewal by June 30, with over 4300 new registrations expected. Applications accepted at branch offices and temporary agents or by mailing the current registration with a $10 fee to the Salem office.
At a Coos County Highway 42 committee meeting in Coquille Judge James Harrison was unanimously re-elected chairman and Mrs Elden Brodie was reelected secretary, reinforcing leadership for the highway improvement effort.

Mrs Winsae Downing of Myrtle Point is chosen to attend a National Science Foundation Institute at Oregon State College, June 22 to August 14. Ninety-seven high school science and math teachers from 19 states were selected, with 53 from Oregon. Participants receive a weekly $75 stipend plus tuition and travel allowances and take graduate courses aimed at updating teaching methods and encouraging careers in science and math.
