Local Members Attend Townsend Club Convention in Los Angeles
Local members HOM Maclean and NEF Bond joined their wives at the third national Townsend club convention in Los Angeles. They drove in MacLean's car and enjoyed a pleasant trip per postcards. The local club met Sunday with vice president E W Buckner presiding and a brief program led by Buckner. Walter Laird spoke on a trip to the state grange at Klamath Falls and the Townsend recovery plan. A A Baker will speak next Sunday.

Dairymen Warned Against Live Vaccine Use

4-H Summer School in Corvallis Ends After Two Weeks
Thirty three 4-H club members completed a two week session at a Corvallis summer school with supervised clinic instruction and athletic events. Miss Anna Adamson of Marshfield acted as supervisor, joined by Mrs Audrey Doda and George Jenkins. Activities included talks, supervised athletics, softball, volleyball, swimming and tennis. Twenty nine county students attended on scholarships with local participants Maxine Hackies and Frank Trigg among others.

The event honored her as a former courthouse employee now working with the soil conservation service at Condon. She is to marry Edwin Keltner of Oregon City June 25 and they will live at Jennings Lodge after marriage. City approves insurance for old fire truck and bond for garbage contract
At Monday’s city council meeting Mayor E C Barker presided with councilmen Marlin Evans Sam Breuer Ralph Kring and M J Morrison in attendance. Property damage and public liability insurance was ordered for the old fire truck. The new fire truck is expected in the first two weeks of July. A $500 bond was accepted from S W Greer on the city garbage contract. Fire Chief George Hughes will attend the Pendleton conference and school for firemen in September.
