A county fund warrant issued to Coos County Humane Society for dog license share. Executirs Erma Savage and Lillie Klockars probate estate of Emily Mephens died May 3, 1908. heirs listed and appraisers named with estate valued around 16,600. Appraisers for Karl A Roland estate named. value 4,000 realty and 1,560 personal. Mining filings include Bancroft districts and Johnson Creek. In Myrtle Point Justice B A Dodge heard R C Head shop foreman of a large Coquille garage on grand larceny charges for a sander worth about 46 dollars. bail set at 3000 dollars and he remains in county jail. Other inmates include T J Werd 67 serving 20 days for disorderly conduct. T E Cornwell 39 faces obtaining money under false pretenses after rubber checks. bail 1000 dollars. Harold Ellis 21 released after five days for operating with switched plates. Fred Q Brown 31 charged with driving under intoxication. 100 dollar fine. Henry C crees and Haton sentence details unclear.
Mrs Louise Erickson and Miss Dorothy Erickson visited Monday evening with Rev ind Mrs Hugh Mitchelmere in Moro on vacation en route from Spokane to Berkeley. Mrs. Erickson and Dorothy were weekend visitors at the Warren Deyoe home. La Verne McCracken returned to Portland to continue nursing studies with one year remaining. The William Bell family moved onto their newly purchased Eighth street property. Several trips and visits across Oregon and California are noted including Crater Lake, San Francisco, Eureka, and various coastal communities.
The Church of the Brethren hosts a Thursday evening 8 o'clock stage play Death Takes the Steering Wheel about a murder trial after an automobile crash caused by drunken driving. Charles Bowers is the accused, with Dr. O H Clarke as judge and Rev F H Barr as prosecuting attorney.
Theodore P Haberly directs a newly organized band of local musicians at the high school. The first Tuesday session drew 12 current band members and five graduates. Any instrument players are invited to join, with practice at 8 o’clock each Tuesday evening in the high school.
Robert Belloni son of M and Mr John Bellon of this city recently won his numeral in track at the University of Oregon He won the 220 yard low hurdles in the Oregon USC frosh meet and placed second in the 120 yard high hurdles Bellon will act as scoutmaster of the local troop during the summer months in place of W E Gurney

The Coos County Fair Board met Tuesday evening in Floyd's Cafe to conduct ordinary business. Present were Joe Larson Marshfield Henry Kern North Bend P O Lund J L Smith Dr J W Harrison Coquille E L Clausen Broadbent Powers Powers Dement Pearce Schaad Dement Clinton Myrtle Point.
The Bridge Civic Club held its regular meeting at the new clubhouse on Tuesday. Officers were reelected and elected: Mrs John Dunckley as president, Mrs Arthur Hillabold as vice president, and Mrs Albert Pancoast as secretary and treasurer with installation next meeting. The library will open to the public Friday. hours are Wednesday 2 to 4 pm and Tuesdays and Fridays 7 to 8 pm. about 18 members attended and silver tea followed on Mrs Murphys lawn hosted by Mrs Hillabold and Mrs Roy Doney.
Several real estate transfers are recorded in Coos and Curry counties including land exchanges near Bridge Myrtle Point and Arago. Sayle Taylor, former Marshfield high school faculty member and radio personality, will lecture at 8 pm July 14 at the Marshfield Armory to aid Elks charity. tickets available at The Herald.
Cougars killed seven sheep owned by H. B. Steiner on the Sixes Saturday night. He called L. A. Cherem of Myrtle Point to bring dogs and trap the animals. Trail slowed by rain but dogs closed in within about nine hours.
Saturday evening in June a dance will be held in the new IV hall with a band providing music and various specialties for the evening. Lunches will be served at the counter and ample space for cars is available.
Tables were set and preparations made for a surprise birthday dinner held on a Tuesday in June.
