Annual rabbit show slated for June at Coos County Fairgrounds
The first annual Rabbit Show of the Southwestern Oregon Rabbit Breeders Association, set for Saturday and Sunday June 27 28 at the Coos County Fairgrounds Myrtle Point. Judging begins noon Saturday with trophies prizes and special awards for junior exhibitors. Entry fees open 50 cents junior 25 cents fur classes 50 cents. Refreshments by 4 H youngsters. Sign-up set for Myrtle Point area swim lessons
Registration for swimming lessons for Myrtle Point area youngsters is scheduled for June 26 from 2 to 5 p.m. and June 27 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at city hall. Ron Reed wins election to represent Jackson and Josephine counties at the Albany Timber Carnival on July 4. The Oregon Log Truckers Association selected him without an elimination contest. Agnes Diahe Whitewater Boat Race Set for Sunday
The Agnes Diahe Whitewater Boat Race will start at Agnes at noon this Sunday. Racers will travel to Diahe and return to Agnes for a two leg course. Total prize money is 1200 dollars. The event is sponsored by the Agnes Community Council which will begin serving barbecue from its pit around noon.

The Myrtle Point Chamber of Commerce tabled a $10000 donation request to Gold Coast Inc for tourist promotion in Cove and Curry counties. A July 6 vote on the request is planned.
