Drowning of Myrtle Point Boy in Coquille River

John Henry Forsyth II eleven, son of Mr and Mrs John H Forsyth Jr, died after slipping into a deep hole while wading near the Spruce Street bridge. Twelve year old Jerry Caudle attempted to help. Divers found the body around 3 30. Officials and volunteers assisted in the search and paid tribute to all helpers. Burial followed at Norway Cemetery with services at Schreyder's chapel.
