Health Department Cancels Community Immunization Clinics

Coos County Health Department announces the suspension of all community immunization clinics until a Medical Health Officer is hired. Clinics canceled include the second Tuesday monthly clinic at the Health Department in Coquille and the third Tuesday monthly clinic at WA Hall in Coos Bay.

Myrtle Point High School Honor Roll Quietly Listed

MPHS announced final grades with five students earning perfect grades and 32 on the honor roll for 3.5 or higher. Four students achieved 4.0: Carol Gassman Grace Cushing Patricia Nelson Delores Northup. Methodist Summer Schedule Changes at Myrtle Point Church

The First Methodist Church of Myrtle Point announces summer hours from June 18 to September 3 with services at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays and Church School Wednesdays 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. A church-wide picnic at Davenport Grove is planned this Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Linda Waterman of Bridge Route Myrtle Point is selected for Orange "O" honor society at Oregon State University and is a sophomore in Education.

Sixty one Coos County 4-H members will attend the 4-H Summer School June 12 through 17 on the Oregon State University campus in Corvallis. Broadbent Bridge Project Funds Approved by Highway Commission

The Oregon State Highway Commission approved funding for a Coos County bridge on Catching Creek Road to be built with 1968 Federal-aid funds. The 250-foot structure will span the South Fork of the Coquille River area near Myrtle Point Broadbent, with a 32-foot right of way. The county will build approaches and the state will handle surveying. The former Broadbent Bridge collapsed in May 26 fatal truck crash prompting traffic rerouting until completion.

Lairds Sell To Bandon Firm In 30 Million Foot Timber Sale

Kenneth Laird and Ivan Laird, partners in L B and L Logging of Siddcum, announce the sale of about 30 million feet of standing amber on Ken Rogge Co. in Bandon. The deal includes substantial logging and trucking equipment. The Lairds have over 30 years in logging and timber and will continue operating Beaver State Veneer in Myrtle Point.

Thompson family to headline Myrtle Point Church services

Rev and Mrs Les Thompson and sons will guest sponsor and sing at Myrtle Point Baptist Church on Sunday June 18 with morning and evening services. Coast and Marine Life Art Workshop at Camp Arago

A one week art course at Camp Arago Teson runs July 31 through August 5 led by Mrs. Maury Haseltine of Salt Lake. The program welcomes high school to adults of all skill levels with coastal sketching, pottery, and weaving focus exploration.
