The Curry County fair board in North Bend decided to keep the dance hall under fair control to avoid reflections and to secure revenue. They engaged the Bandon brass band for all four days of the fair, after a successful prior performance. A Port Orford meeting will be held next. organizers predict a strong 1920s era turnout with farmers showing unusual interest.
Myrtle Point notes say Mrs Mary Anderson, aged over 80, died in Covena California after about a year of illness. Born Wine in Virginia, she married Leonard Wagoner then S D Anderson. The family lived in Coos County 47 years at the Johnny Kay place near Coquille Forks. Survived by daughter Mrs Chas Barklew and son Mrs Martha Platt, with further kin in Covena and Illinois. Funeral at Covena scheduled for 2 o'clock yesterday.
Appropriate exercises were held in the Community building at Crevel Ford Sunday with music and recitations by children and older participants. About one hundred attended and the program was followed by a large dinner. It notes more than 200 varieties of sharkas in the clean and that no one has counted the land species.

Delegates at the state Grange convention voted 232 to Coos Bay and 62 to Grants Pass, choosing Marshfield for next year. Five pounds of cheese from Mutual Creamery of Marshfield were handed to about a thousand delegates with a Come to Coos Bay in 29 ribbon. Telegrams urging Coos County meetings were read, with attendees from Myrtle Point Coquille Marshfield North Bend. Mr Lee Ray and Rev Hulet attended. Mr Arthur Brown stood in for ill Pomona Master.
Mrs Edna Parke Gardner of Roseburg died in a two vehicle collision on the Coos Bay highway just west of Coos Bay Junction early Sunday. Her husband was unconscious for several hours. the other driver was Jimmy Boles of Marshfield and no serious injuries were reported to his passenger. A coroner's inquest was held in Roseburg Tuesday afternoon.

Eight Arago youths, forming the stock judging team famous at last year’s state fair and the International Livestock Exposition, depart Sunday for Corvallis for two weeks of training. Members include Ruby Robison, Opal Robison, Edna Halter, Erma Schroeder, Lois Schroeder, Orvis Miller, Henry Collier, and Meldon Karl. The group will study under state college instructors with hopes of a stronger fall record, aided by a $16 car fare rate offered by Southern Pacific for students attending the Corvallis course.
Railroads serving West of Ogden Utah and El Paso Texas and south of Portland Oregon publish July 4 excursion fares. For one way under 30 dollars the round trip is one and one third fare with return by July 8 and no stopovers. Frank Nelson of Norway died Monday from peritonitis at Keizer hospital. Services were held at Norway cemetery with burial there. He leaves his mother Mrs Amelia Nelson of Marshfield and sister Mrs William Webes of Portland, plus two nephews and the sister and husband from Portlaw. Reverend Cooper of Marshfield conducted the service.
