Council Enacts Two Ordinances At Monday Meeting

Grace Ward wife of Dale Ward died at the county farm on Thursday June 10 1937 from tuberculosis after months of illness born February 28 1888 at Stillwater Minnesota raised in Catholic convents her father died when she was about 18 years old her husband Dale Ward has suffered the same disease in Mast hospital since about the same time she was taken to the hospital from the McMillan apartment in Powers her only surviving relative is a brother Herbert G Lynn of Ellensburg Washington the body is held at Schroeder Funeral Home awaiting arrangements

A Monday night collision at Sixth and Spruce involved a 1937 Plymouth driven by Clarence Endicott and a Chevrolet coach driven by Mrs Georgia Cook of Coquille. Seven year old passenger in Mrs Cook’s car suffered a severe head cut and was hospitalized after initial treatment by Dr H H Thomas. he later was moved home then to a Coquille hospital as condition worsened. Mrs Cook reportedly dislocated shoulder and Endicott’s brakes allegedly slid to a stop after crossing the yellow line. authorities are monitoring recovery and consider reckless driving charges pending updates.
