Grange Council met at the city hall in Coquille with President Ras Deadmond of Fairview. The 21st annual school meetings in Oregon districts occur Monday June 2. Voters select a clerk and director and may approve budget in most districts. A new law limits head of family voters for budget though clerks and directors remain eligible. In some districts turnout is small, but organizers hope for high attendance this year.

Norway Pupils Recite at Myrtle Grange Meeting

During the Tuesday night lecture hour at Myrtle Grange the Norway school pupils performed a recitation and program. Mr and Mrs John Carl elected as delegates to the state grange convention beginning next Monday. Several Myrtle Grange members plan to attend the North Bayside Grange hall meeting Saturday night June 13 where national master and executive committee will be present.

Marshfield Burglary Suspect Robert Clyde Lewis Faces Sentencing

County arrests include Robert Clyde Lewis 21 who pled guilty to burglary in a dwelling and waives counsel with sentencing set for 10 o clock next Monday morning. Other cases involve Roy Arneson 272 and William Arneson 48 drunken driving and drunkenness with jail terms, and Jay R Billings awaiting parole or further action on false pretenses sentence. Edward Fittcroft 30 released after intoxication charge. Arlin Johnson 21 serving fine. Frank Joseph Deal 63 serving $25 fine.
