The council in regular session discussed a milk license issue and the resignation of a council member from the town. A $28 grant was approved to aid Myrtle Point firefighters attending a convention, and council members heard requests to require milk sellers to obtain a city license and comply with a posted ordinance.

Her daughter Janet has visited Mr and Mrs Summers. Mrs Douglas is a teacher in Junction City. Byron Boles and his newlywed wife arrived with his parents to settle in the city. Boles bought a ranch in Bonners Ferry Idaho and reports liking the area.
A four footed violinist companion named Ellen Sehvoder debuts at a Chamber of Commerce banquet with Sav. Ranten among the featured entertainments. A light tax debate follows as P. O. Lund mocks county warrant writers as bad checks.
The Cool Chunky Tennis club traveled to Medford last Sunday for a contest with the Medford club. Heavy rain halted play, with matches held Monday morning. The team then moved to Grants Pass for an afternoon match. Travelers included Mr and Mrs M. O Seale and several players from Marshfield, Myrtle Point, North Bend, and Coos County clubs.
Summer session began Monday with 15 pupils and runs six weeks from 8 to 12 daily. Floyd Summers leads classes to save next year’s teacher time. R M Knox and Lawrence Rackleff organized a 4-H dairy club meeting at Arago to start a local junior group focused on quality milk production and health. Twenty five 4-H members and leaders from Lenove and Coquill pig and calf clubs met at H. B. Cadman’s home in Coquille.
Campfire girls met in their club room on Tuesday to prepare scrapbooks for crippled children in hospitals. They planned an all day hike and swim next Wednesday. Anita Gill was named trip leader and will earn an honor bead if duties suit.
Local heavyweight Jimmy Byrnes returns from Portland and weighs in for a Friday bout with Tiny Abbott in Marshfield. The charity fight benefits the unemployed, with at least 100 dollars added to the fund. All attendees and fighters must hold paid tickets.

Harold Adams from Seattle, connected with Pacific Air Transport, arrived in Myrtle Point Wednesday to visit his parents before returning to Seattle. He has been touring the country on vacation, reaching as far east as his travels allow.
Dr. Leslie W. G. was again named to head the Coos County Democratic Committee for the next two years. Forty Democrats attended the meeting at Ben Starkweather’s address day, sharing a chicken dinner and meeting county candidates that preceded the keynote.
