Fishing has been good across the area last week with Mr and Mrs J L Hansen of Myrtle Point landing 14 trout while still fishing Floras Lake where fish range from 11 to 15 inches. Ten Mile Floral Lakes and Eagle Creek report strong activity with Super Duper lures on a troll and worm or bait fishing noted. Ocean smelt dipping at beaches continues though timing may be early. one dipper notes smelt freeze well and keep indefinitely.

Myrtle Point Adopts Budget With $15000 Increase
Myrtle Point adopts a city budget for the coming year showing about $15000 more in operating costs than last year. Big Logging Truck Crashes on Hermann Street Hill
A logging truck driven by Louis M Lovell ran out of control Monday afternoon on Hermann Street Hill. It careered down the slope through ditches, struck a house edge and a concrete foundation, then rolled into a field and rested near a small smoke-house. Lovell and his wife sustained undetermined injuries but refused hospitalisation and returned home.
