Graduation Exercises Set for 104 8th Graders

The 8th grade commencement will be held next Wednesday December 7 at Bredeck. The program includes a band, invocations by Rev. Glen E. Meyhen, flag salute, welcomes by Principal Paw T. Fransen, and student addresses and music. Colors lavender and white. rhododendron is class flower. The graduation list features over a hundred names led by Vickie Abel and Jollen Adams, with many more students from grades 1 through 8. The Herald offers congratulations to all 104 graduates.

District 41 Band Festival Thrills at Myrtle Crest Gym

A capacity crowd attended the District 41 Band Festival at Myrtle Crest Gym. Under Fred Schmale and Les Simons, fifth through high school bands performed ensemble and solo numbers, including Canadian Sunset by the 8th grade and L Arlesienne Suite by the high school band. Gifts and awards were presented to students, with Faye Ratcliffe, Tommy Ralph, and Bruce Miller receiving top honors.
