Mrs. Emily Hickam of Arago and Misses June and Dorothy Chandler were injured in an auto accident on Dement creek near the Ray Gilkison ranch. The Star touring car turned over twice after getting stuck in a rut, throwing Dorothy clear and injuring June who broke a rib and suffered severe leg bruises. All were brought to Mast hospital for treatment.

Truck Plunges 60 Feet Into River Near Rock Creek
A Eugene bakery truck fell asleep at the wheel Saturday morning and slid 60 feet down a river bank into the Coquille river. The truck remained upright and the driver escaped, crawled out, and later sprained his back after slipping on a rock while retrieving a spare tire. The Studebaker was badly damaged. steering wheel and glass shattered.
