Coos County Fair Board to Meet at Myrtle Hotel
The Coos County Fair board of directors will meet at the Myrtle Hotel at 8 p.m. Tuesday August 3. Sam Cribbins 20 sustained a broken thigh and serious facial and head injuries from a one car crash at 5 a.m. Sunday one mile east of Bridge on Highway 43. He was taken from Mast hospital to Keizer hospital for surgery and later stayed at Keiser as his condition improved. He is the son of Ike and Erma Cribbins.

State To Widen Powers Hiway
The state highway department notified Coos county it is obtaining a right of way from the Stanley Schrag property near Hoffman Bridge on the Whiskey Creek section of the Powers highway to widen improve and maintain the road. Certified letters were sent to Mr and Mrs Schrag and to county commissioners. Gerald Duane Holliday 37 of Broadbent forfeited 25 bail posted after arrest on a drunk in public charge at 11 pm July 20. Edward Anthony Haverman 49 was returned to police custody July 24 for non payment of a 900 fine on resisting arrest. he was released July 25.

Summer Band Sessions Planned for Middle and High School
