Rogue River man arrested after tavern shooting in Powers
Lester C. Bennett of Powers was shot twice with a .22 revolver at the Powers Tavern. Robert Woodruff of Rogue River was taken into custody for attempted murder and held at Coos County Jail. Police feared for Bennett’s life as tensions rose and area agencies assisted at the scene.
