A head on collision near Hoffman bridge involved cars driven by Charles Gardner of Coquille and Harold Potts of Sumner. Nine people were injured and taken to Myrtle Point hospital, with two in serious condition. Victims include Mrs C C Gardner and Charles Gardner 32, while Gerald Potts 12 and Robert Pierson 10 sustained injuries.

The M E Men's Council met at Pioneer Church in Coquille for dinner and a program marking Ladies Night. Attendees included Myrtle Point members Harry Drutiner Cronk EB H Schroeder Milton Schroeder Dr O H Clarke Robert Clarke Lloyd Leatherman Kenneth Leatherman and Mesdames Schroeder Drullner Clarke Cronk plus Misses Helen Gill Julia Myreatherman Mia Cronk. Schroeder and Cronk sang with soprano solos and an organ recital by Robert Burns of Coquille. New J Raymond Wilder sang a Rhode Island state song with music by Burns.
Postmaster Elton Behroeder reports the star route now links Coquille Arango Myrtle Point and Broadbent with better service. Mail posted before noon is sent to Coquille and arrives in time for afternoon delivery, boosting reliability for the town.
Approximately 78 people attended the monthly meeting of the State Fox Breeders Association held Sunday at the Strong We Pienie in Enloget Her. Reports indicate strong participation across Coos County with fox breeders present from multiple districts.

A county WCTU institute is planned for Tuesday August 4 at the Methodist church with Mrs C Farr county president in charge. Rev W C Cronk will lead devotions and a covered dish luncheon will be held at noon. The public is invited.

The bi monthly Churches of Christ convention gathered Tuesday at Hootons Haven Bridge for an all day session themed The Christian Warfare. Rev C Kinney Myrtle Creek spoke on Preparation for the Conflict Rev J Frank Cunningham Roseburg on The Conflict and Rev Emil J Agiseth Crane on The Victory. Douglas county speakers led main talks as Coos county delegates attended. A picnic lunch was served at noon and in the evening with several musical numbers. The next convention will be held at North Bend on September 8.
Oregon sets uniform minimum prices for milk and cream statewide effective July 1 by order of the Milk Control Board after 14 months of study and hearings. The schedule lifts producer revenue in all markets, with four percent milk at wholesale nine cents and retail eleven, five percent milk wholesale ten cents and retail eighteen, skim four wholesale five retail, light cream wholesale thirteen cents butterfat, retail fifteen, heavy cream wholesale seventeen retail nineteen, and bans discounts rebates and delivery differentials.
The Coos Pioneer Association schedules its third annual picnic at Community Park in Coquitle on Sunday July 26. A two week Bible school starts Monday July 27 at the Presbyterian church. Classes run weekdays from 9 am to 12 noon except Saturdays. The non denominational program aims to teach Bible knowledge to Sunday school age children and youth with three trained young teachers assisting the pastor. The daily program features song devotional talks and object lessons.
Myrtle Point Chamber of Commerce heard plans for port improvements at Bandon and harbor deepening on the Coquille River to aid watershed flood control and attract farmers and loggers. G E Dickinson reported on valley resources from Washington and will present findings at a July 21 public hearing in Bandon.
Oregon State Planning Board launches a comprehensive study to locate tax sources for old age pensions. Governor Mort requested the survey, chaired by Ormond R Bean with J C Rettie directing. It will analyze tax trends, per capita totals, and compare Oregon with other states.

Curry county's fourth annual lamch and wool show is planned for July 2 in Gold Beach with a full daytime to midnight program. The fair board expects 200 to 400 lambs on display and notes last year's event served over 1 000 people at the free outdoor lunch.
