The city unveiled a Ford econoline ambulance at city hall on Monday costing about 8900 dollars. Police Chief Merle Hathaway says it meets federal ambulance regulations and will operate with MP Bali officers and Red Cross volunteers.

Coquille residents may sign up for two week Red Cross sanctioned swimming lessons at City Hall from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday July 10. Fees total 2.50 including 2.00 for lessons and 0.50 for transportation with 3.00 for youths over 16. Buses from Maple Primary School will run twice daily to the pool with tentative times.
