Bobcats Win 2 Over Weekend In District Play

Myrtle Point Bobcats beat Gold Beach 85 to 46 on home floor with Jim Thomas scoring 25 and 16 rebounds. Larry Dernath 17 Tom Curry 14 and Dick Down 11 aided a 28-8 first quarter run and a 46-20 halftime lead. Reedsport upset bid fell 71-68 as Schweitzer led with 38 for the Braves.

Coquille Meeting Sets River Jam Clearance Plan

Nearly one hundred attended a Coquille meeting on January 18 to discuss clearing log jams in the Coquille River, mainly Middle Creek. Pictures of the river cleanup will be shown again at Myrtle Point Chamber of Commerce on February 6 at noon at the Myrtle Hotel, hosted by the Fish and Game committee with members Pochlittz Nichols Henry and Wilberger, along with Myrtle Point Sportsmen's Club representatives Strong Griffin and Shields, Port Commission member Tom Forrest Sr., and others.
