Mr and Mrs W E B Eppler owners of Epplers Trailer Village Myrtle Point received a Woodalls Home Parks association certificate and a 912 page directory noting their Myrtle Point park as the only two star trailer court in Coos County. They began the court two years ago, can host 35 trailers with 27 spaces occupied, and their operation reflects higher land care roads and utilities. Harold Clarno left for Denver to attend the Hee Cowboy Association convention as a representative of the Coos County Fan Association and Coos County Fair matters.
The January 18 election selects seven zone representatives for the new R-41 School District to take office July 1. The County Reorganization Committee will canvass votes January 20 and set terms: one member five years, one four years, two three years, two two years.
Officials announce a dedication service for the new kindergarten addition to the Boy Scout building next Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Don Bartley presiding. A ham dinner will follow, starting at 1 p.m. in the new building. Adults pay 50 cents, children 25 cents. all are urged to attend.
Plans are under way to raise Stringtown road near Myrtle Point to remove flood hazards on the 0.3 mile Coquille section. A $140,000 project funded 60 percent by federal, 20 state, 20 county would include grading, a new overflow bridge, and a 22 foot wide pavement with four shoulders to restore access during floods. Work could start early spring.
