K Cutler who ran a radio shop on Spence street sold the business last week to R M Ward and left for Portland to enlist as a radioman in the U S Navy. If he does not gain entry he will pursue civil service or defense work. Ward, an electrician on the BEA construction program, will operate the business at Spruce street and Railroad avenue in the same building. The Cutlers leased their home, Mrs Cutler resides in the Mast hospital nurses quarters, and Dr and Mrs E Beecher occupy the former home.
A Wednesday demonstration on handling incendiary, explosive and gas bombs was presented at the local high school with Clarke and Hrem Clarke of Marshfield in charge. They had just returned from a Portland event and explained three bomb types before an open audience discussion.
The American Legion group voted Monday to switch from weekly to semi monthly gatherings at the hall. They plan the first semi monthly session after the war and schedule future meetings for the fourth Wednesday. Coast Artillery Corps members are noted among attendees.
