Powers Burglar Arrested In South

Authorities yesterday arrested Herbert Haughton and Gordon Masilerre in connection with a July theft spree that included two slot machines stolen from a local venue. The pair allegedly rode with the thieves to Medjimasi bridge where a gun was pointed at Haughton. They fled and left a wrecked car at Bridge, with the stolen machine later found in an abandoned vehicle.

Proposed Law To Create Official County Planning Board

Dr Everett Mingur, chairman of the Coos County Planning Commission, received information from the Oregon State Planning Board about a proposed bill. A car stolen from Coquille Hospital parking Monday night was found abandoned on the berm near the bridge after a road crew spotted it out of gas and stalled. Broadbent said the vehicle had been taken from the hospital lot while the owner was consulting a physician.
