The project aims to expand bulb production in Coos Bay region with new varieties like King of Daffodils and a large scale trial in the Coquille valley.
The Coquille Chamber of Commerce board of directors voted to back a proposed county museum. J. P. Byers, a Coos County pioneer, says the museum would preserve pioneer and other historical relics that may soon become unavailable.

The Coos County Fair association will elect president, vice president, secretary, and a director on March 12 to fill vacancies from resignations of Wallance B. Dement Austin Dodge and L H Pearce. Norwood Browne of Myrtle Point was appointed to fill one vacancy. The resignations followed a Feb 12 directors meeting due to business, health, and other reasons. All prewar activities will resume, including horse racing, with new directors guiding the association.
Mr and Mrs Gus Diets have all three children at home this weekend and plan to keep them nearby through the week. Sweet Home native aes weth arrived Tuesday to work there for three years and will stay for the summer. Lloyd came from Senegal where he serves as a yeoman in the navy.
Myrtle Point junior high swept the county tournament scale in Coquille Saturday defeating Marshfield 20 to 2 and North Bend 19 to 13 in the finals. North Bend beat Coquille 38 to 16 to reach the finale. Marvin Hammack led scorers with Ly ie Carver and Max faboul also contributing in a tight junior league finish.
P. C. Roper & Co and associates purchase a Spruce Street property once home to Jim Albee’s repair shop and Brooks Second Hand store. They will remodel the buildings to house their business and showroom spaces and plan to move the structures back later to create a used car lot on the front lot.
James E. Anderson and Roy Faye Hike of Myrtle Point travel to Portland for pre induction physicals as Selective Service Board No. 2 in Coquille announces. Six more Coquille valley men depart February for induction. Names listed include Homer K. Wantley Ifford Wilson and Fred W. of Myrtle Point. Two others join service by regular enlistment: Edgar K. Earl Moon of Myrtle Point in the Navy and Gilbert Holbrook of Riverton in the Army.
