Funeral for Coos Pioneer Held Tuesday
Mrs Louisa K Roberta a Coos county pioneer died Sunday February 18 at her daughter’s Canby home. The Oregon widow aged 78 lived in Myrtle Point and Coos county most of her life. Interment followed at Myrtle Point cemetery beside her husband. Surviving relatives include eight children, twenty two grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by Rev G Banton at the Schroeder Funeral Home Myrtle Point.

Four County Men Attend Oregon Dairymen's Meeting
Coos county delegates led by George Hampton Arago and George Jenkins Coquille attended the Oregon Dairymen's Association gathering in La Grande officiating on Friday and Saturday. Detlefson was named to the production control committee. A code proposing a five cent ad valorem tax on coconut oil and tuberculin cow elimination was discussed along with dairy product reductions and a process tax on butter and oleo margarine. The event drew broad dairy representation and featured A J Glover Hoards Dairyman editor and Holstein Friesian leader as keynote speaker. Delegates returned Monday.

VFW Post 2028 Sinks Spotlight On The Maine Sinking
VFW Lee Ray Post 2028 and Auxiliary hosted a Thursday evening program commemorating the sinking of the Maine. The event opened with a flag salute and “America” singalong, featured solos by Mrs Albert Pan coast and Leone Rissberger, a story on the Maine by Charles F Gilroy, and talks on “Legislature and the VFW” by G Bingham, William Neideigh, and F I Moon. Refreshments followed as six men and five women were given the obligation, with a special initiation planned next Saturday night by the Roseburg post degree team after cards and entertainment.

Buick coach over embankment near Gravelford bridge
