Charley Broadbent Dies in California Dairy Pioneer
Charley Broadbent, about 50, died of sudden heart failure at his Lindsay California home Friday. He helped establish creameries in Broadbent Lundy and Arago and ran a Myrtle Point operation. Born in Pennsylvania he moved west and married Laura Barklew in 1904. they had a daughter Helen Jo who teaches Spanish and was abroad. The Broadbent town bears his name. he was regarded as a progressive businessman with a noted citrus grove near Lindsay.
